Dr. Patricia Solís is a Research Associate Professor at Arizona State University’s School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning. She is also the university’s Executive Director of the Knowledge Exchange for Resilience, a campus-wide effort to link community needs with research innovations. She is the Director and a Co-founder of YouthMappers, a consortium of more than 193 universities in over 46 countries that creates and uses open spatial data for humanitarian and development needs in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development. Dr. Solís has developed more than 50 competitively funded projects, totaling more than $9 million, to promote innovations in research and education collaboration. Her international experience includes fostering north-south and south-south academic networks among emerging scholars in 60 countries across Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
