Ivana Mowry-Mora is a Venezuelan-American political geographer and events and community outreach specialist, now working at the American Geographical Society as the Coordinator of Initiatives and Sponsored Projects. She graduated from George Washington University with a BA and a MS in Geography, with a critical border studies research focus on mobility and fragility in the Americas, centering migrant rights, racial justice, labor rights, and environmental justice. Ivana has worked at the Cincinnati Hispanic Chamber, the Women’s National Democratic Club, the DC Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs, the National Park Service, and the Aspen Institute for Latinos & Society in multicultural and bilingual community outreach, strategic communications, and events management. She is passionate about geography as the endless study of our world’s interconnectedness and as a crucial lens from which to collaborate across disciplines to build a better world.
