American Geographical Society

The American Geographical Society and its EthicalGEO Initiative’s Location Tech Task Force has been convening a series of Blue-Ribbon Panels and Leadership Spotlights examining the ethical implications of mobile location technology in the era of COVID-19 and beyond. Many of the United States’ most marginalized communities are being made more vulnerable by the introduction of new technologies and policies to combat the coronavirus. Our panel of experts discussed the impacts of mobile location technology on Black lives, immigrant communities, and others living in the United States.
